GreenJets Airplane

GreenJets.com Domain Status

My vision is for GreenJets to be an easy way of buying Green Tags (Renewable Energy Certificates) to offset carbon emissions caused by air travel.

Even though I have plans for the GreenJets.com domain, I have limited resources to further develop http://greenjets.com/greenjets.html at this time. If you have a proposal on how to more quickly develop the GreenJets service, send me an email at edward@greenjets.com.

A Green Jet Airplane Flight

If you are an eco-conscious consumer but need to travel via airplane (which almost exclusively uses non-renewable sources of jet fuel), you can purchase green tags to balance the impact on the environment caused by your air travel. To give you an idea of the amount needed to compensate for a non-green jet trip from one corner of the U.S. to the other, consider the following:

A commercial jet flight (but not on a private jet which is less efficient per person) from Miami, Florida to Seattle, Washington is about 5,500 miles and creates about 1,500 lbs of CO2 per person. Buying $9 worth of green tags will pay to convert your non-green jet trip to an eco-friendly one. As most will agree, $9 added to a $400-$500 economy airplane ticket (or $1,200-$1,500 first class ticket) is a minimal amount for the environmental benefits received.

As you can see, it costs very little (and GreenJets looks forward to making it very easy) to be an earth friendly consumer and help save the environment.

Earth Friendly Businesses

Because I am interested in eco-friendly initiatives (both grassroots and commercial), I have registered other green domains for other environment-friendly business ideas. I believe that the only way to save the environment is to give businesses a profit motive to do so.
